Application Integration

Hisham is an expert in building application integration solutions that connect internal and external systems. Whether it’s a real-time messaging scenario or big batch Hisham will help you take SOA from strategy to concept into implementation and out into operation. With deep skills building integration solutions using technologies such as BizTalk Server, SQL Server Integration Services and Windows Communication Foundation, Hisham can help guide your business through the hurdles of application integration.

Connections

Connecting systems properly with quality data interfaces is a difficult task. Unlike self-contained software applications, with application integration there are many technical and organizational considerations that must be accounted for. Hisham has the experience building effective management, monitoring, administration solutions that are required. Typically system integration involves a mix of operating systems and development platforms that require interoperability. Hisham’s knowledge of messaging and web service standards will help your organization make the right technology decisions that are consistent and balanced with your goals.

Hisham can select the appropriate integration solution for the specific problem at hand while considering the options and balancing many priorities. At a high level system interfaces can be grouped into two buckets – point to point or publish and subscribe. Traditional point-to-point interfaces communicate directly from one system to another with a direct link between the two systems. Using a publish-subscribe architecture provides some significant benefits primarily by abstracting the sender from the receiver. Messages can then be routed through a central hub and then distributed to any interested systems.

BizTalk Server

BizTalk Server provides a highly reliable publish-subscribe messaging hub on the Microsoft .NET platform. Hisham has been working with BizTalk Server since the 2000 beta version. With the latest 2006 release BizTalk has now become a mature development framework for reliable messaging. BizTalk is one of the many tools Hisham has as part of integration toolkit.

While BizTalk can solve many common integration scenarios it is not intended to solve all types of integration scenarios. BizTalk is not a good candidate for high volume, non-transactional messaging that is more suited to WCF services. Hisham has the experience to assess the requirements and make the proper technology decision.
